Govt urged to legislate for minorities’ personal laws

Islamabad, Dec. 15 (TNS): National Commission for Justice and Peace demanded the government for legislation for minorities’ personal laws in the country.

The Commission held a press conference in Islamabad, which was highlighted the difficulties and miseries being faced by minorities due to lack of personal law.

Speakers, on the occasion, said that there should there is need for legislation over matters such as marriage registration, forced conversions, protection of rights for women belong to minorities and amendments in laws.

Minorities’ representatives said that they should be given direct participation in elections.
