HELMAND, Dec 17 (TNS): Eleven police personnel have been killed in Taliban attack launched on a police checkpoint here in the southern Helmand province on Sunday.
According to a spokesman of Governor Helmand province, Afghan forces eventually repelled the attack in the provincial capital, Lashkar Gah. He said Taliban also suffered casualties.
Meanwhile, an Afghan woman was killed and five other people were wounded when a suicide bomber attacked a convoy of the NATO forces in Kandahar province.
