Pakistan values relations with Uzbekistan and desires to further enhance them: Rana Tanveer

ISLAMABAD Dec 21 (TNS):  The special assistant to the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan H.E Mr.Vladimir Norov along with his delegation met with the Federal Minister for science and technology & Defense Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain here at Islamabad.

The delegates apprised the Minister that Uzbekistan has a special focus on research and technical education. Therefore we have established 78 world class institutions which include Al-Khwarizmi university of information technology Tashkent, which is the largest IT institution in central Asia.

The Uzbek delegation informed the Minister that Uzbekistan is working on the preservation of Muslim cultural heritage, through digitalization of all available records and asked for the cooperation of Pakistan in this regard.

Minister said that Pakistan always valued its relations with Uzbekistan and desired to further enhance the existing ties, especially in the area of science and technology. He pointed out that  relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan had the potential to grow further.

 

The minister told the delegates that Pakistan has established renowned “Scientific research institutions” and a quality research is being produced there. So both the sides may explore the possibilities of joint ventures to further enhance the cooperation.

 

Both sides appreciated the existing level of cooperation between the two countries and expressed the desire to expand it further.

 

Furthermore, both the countries stressed on the need for frequent exchange of visits by the scientists and researchers in order to identify more areas of cooperation.
