MUZAFFARNAGAR Jan 03 (TNS):  BJP lawmaker Vikram Saini, known for his provocative comments, has made another shocking statement that is seen as sectarian and real face of Indian Political leaders and ruling party.

The lawmaker, who represents Khatauli in the Uttar Pradesh assembly, was speaking in Muzaffarnagar, where violence in 2013 had claimed 60 lives of Muslims. He said “Our nation is called Hindustan, which means a nation for the Hindus. Today, everyone gets benefits without any discrimination,” Vikram Saini said.

Yesterday, another BJP lawmaker from Rajasthan had courted controversy by alleging that Muslims were bearing more children with an aim to outnumber Hindus and to take control of the country by 2030.

“Muslims were giving birth to 12-14 children….while Hindus restrict the number to one or two,” read a Facebook post by Banwari Lal, the sitting legislator from Alwar, where by-polls for the parliamentary seat will be held on January 29.

The continuous statements by BJP leaders and other political leaders have exposed the slogan of secularism.

According to the 2011 census, 79.8% of the population of India practices Hinduism and 14.2% adheres to Islam, while the remaining 6% adheres to other religions (Christianity, Sikhism, Buddhism, Jainism and various indigenous ethnically-bound faiths). Christianity is the 3rd largest religion in India.
