Islamabad, Jan. 4 (TNS): A meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security on Thursday strongly condemned harsh statements by US officials against Pakistan.
The Parliamentary body met at the Parliament House in Islamabad.
Speaker National Assembly chaired the in-camera session, which was attended by Minister for Foreign Affairs Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Defence Minister Khurram Dastgir and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah.
The Committee will deliberate upon matters relating to national security, especially in the backdrop of anti-Pakistan statements emanating from Washington.
The Speaker briefed the participants as to why the meeting has been convened. He said the meeting would consider the recent statement of the US President and other important issues of national security.
Speaker Ayaz Sadiq said national security is an issue of survival and therefore, we will have to forge unity among our ranks.
