KARACHI, Jan 07 (TNS): Former army chief Pervez Musharraf has urged the people of Karachi to pledge their support to All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) and detach themselves with Muttahida Qaumi Movement.
Musharraf addressed a rally at Liquatabad Flyover of APML supporters on Sunday over a Skype call connected from Dubai.
In his speech, the former dictator said that he wishes to bring a basic change in politics of Pakistan and that he would voice support for any lawmaker who’d work for the betterment of the people.
Musharraf said that a better name should be given to the community instead of Mohajir and MQM. He said that he does not talk about personal gains but people’s interest. The ex-army chief alleged that the incumbent leaders of Pakistan do not feel for the people of the country.
He vowed to bring about a positive change in Karachi after coming to power and said that the political party would initiate development projects in Karachi.
