CJP announces of launching judicial reformes

ISLAMABAD, Jan 08 (TNS):  Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has said that they would launch judicial reforms and warned that nobody should then say that the judiciary is crossing its jurisdiction.

A three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Mian Saqib Nisar heard the suo motu case regarding cutting of trees on Margalla Hills.

During the proceedings, Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that Punjab ran the federation for last 20 years.

The CJP remarked that your childhood has passed and now you were getting old, adding that the properties were being allotted.

When asked how much time the CDA would require draw the rules and regulations, Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry requested the court to allow three months.

Justice Saqib Nisar then allowed two months to the CDA to draw up the rules and regulations.

The CJP asked who is responsible for making laws, to which the minister said that it was the parliament’s duty.

Justice Saqib Nisar then remarked that they will now bring reforms in the judicial system.
