ChAKWAL, Jan 08 (TNS): nail biting contest is expected between PML-N and PTI candidates as the polling for the Punjab assembly seat, PP-20 Chakwal by-poll is going to be held tomorrow on Tuesday.
The seat was fallen vacant after the death of PML-N member provincial assembly Chaudhary Liaqat in October 2017.
The polling will get started at 8:00 am and will continue till 5:00 without any break.
According to details 279570 voters, 144000 male and 1330000 female, are registered in the constituency. Election Commission has set up 227 polling stations which will carry 421 male polling booths and 393 female polling booths.Related imageElection Election commission has deployed 1855 staff members along with stringent security arrangements.
Presiding officers will enjoy the powers of magistrate on the polling day as they can take quick action to cope any untoward situation. Pakistan Army personnel will be deployed inside and outside at all the polling stations of the PP-20, Peshawar-IV by-election.
A tough contest will be expected among the PTI candidate Tariq Mehmood Fazal, PML-N candidate Sultan Haider Ali and ANP candidate Qaisar Abbasi.
In 2013 general election PML-N candidate Ch Liaqat with 62088 votes had emerged as victorious while runner up was an independent candidate. PTI candidate stood at third position.
