Family of slain Karachi youth rejects detained cops’ claim, appeals CJP, COAS help bring criminals justice

KARACHI, Jan 15 (TNS): Family of Intezar Ahmed who was gunned down by anti-car lifting cell of police last night in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) have on Sunday rejected detained cops’ claim of the youth been killed over a personal dispute with another group.

Grieving family of late Ahmed addressed a press conference in Karachi alongside a legal counsel and demanded Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar and Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa to help bring the criminals to justice.

Preliminary reports suggest that the personnel of anti-car lifting cell shot at least 13 bullets and three of those hit the vehicle.

While during initial interrogation, the personnel have maintained that the vehicle did not stop upon instruction which is why fire was opened.

On the other hand, number of detained police has increased to six today after another two were taken in custody.

Family and the legal counsel have expressed mistrust on police and have demanded the Army Chief and the CJP to take note of the incident.
