KABUL, June 22 (TNS): The Taliban have released a new video showing American Kevin King and Australian Timothy Weekes who have been held hostage since August, the Afghan media reported on Thursday.
King and Weekes were abducted outside the American University of Afghanistan in Kabul, where they work as lecturers.  In the latest video both said the date was June 16.

This comes after an earlier video of the two hostages was released in January – both of whom looked pale and distressed.
This latest video has them looking slightly healthier.  Both hostages said they are being treated well by the Taliban but that they remain prisoners and appealed to their governments to help free them.  “My freedom has been taken from me and I want to spend the rest of my life in the service of American people and in the service of humanity,” King said in the footage.
He appeals to U.S President Donald Trump to help him and to arrange a prisoner exchange to secure their freedom. “I am still a prisoner, I am so far from home, far from my family and far from my friends,” the Australian said and also appealed to his government to secure his release.  The footage was send to the media by Taliban’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid.
