Lahore, Jan. 17 (TNS): PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday said that Jati Umra poses great threat to Pakistan as Nawaz Sharif wanted to become another Sheikh Mujeeb-ur-Rehman.
Addressing a joint opposition protest rally to seek justice for the Model Town tragedy in Lahore, former President said that PML-N goons do not care about Pakistan, they only care about Jati Umra.
He claimed that only the PPP cares about Pakistan, its soil, and the people of the nation.
The PPP co-chairman also thanked the attendees for showing solidarity with the Model Town incident victims and promised to get justice for the families of the deceased.
He said that Pakistan has a long journey ahead.
“We eat the crops grown on this soil, so our allegiance is with this country,” he added.
The former president also lashed out at military dictators saying that PPP has been victim since Zia era and vowed to fight against dictatorship.
“Dictators do not build countries, they only destroy them. The problems that we have today are gifts of Gen. Zia,” Zardari went on to say.
