Karachi, Jan. 21 (TNS): The Sindh Police decided to arrest former SSP Malir Rao Anwar and his entire police party, allegedly involved in ‘extrajudicial murder’ of Naqeebullah Mehsud, local media quoting official sources reported on Sunday.

The decision was taken during a high-level meeting of police officials in Karachi on Sunday, headed by Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Additional DIG Sanaullah Abbasi, who is also heading a committee formed to probe into the alleged custodial killing.

“The meeting was attended by members of the probe committee and officers of the special branch among other high-level police officials,” sources said.

The meeting also decided to replace all station house officers (SHOs) in District Malir.

Anwar, also called an ‘encounter specialist’, had been working as SSP Malir for the last few years and was said to have killed around 250 alleged terrorists in dozens of encounters.
