Islamabad, Jan. 20 (TNS): Federal Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Monday said the media should avoid giving an impression that cases of child abuse is common practice in Pakistan.

“All of us have a duty to protect children,” he said while addressing a session in the Senate.

He further said that the impression being projected in media that all children in Pakistan are unsafe, is something exaggerated.

“It is not true that all children in the country are unsafe,” the interior minister said. “The media should not create an impression that child abuse cases are common in the society.”

The minister stressed that everyone should have a strong resolve to bring an end to criminal activities.
