Quetta June 23 (TNS): In a shocking episode, a traffic warden was crushed to death by a speeding vehicle stated to be belonging to MPA Majeed Achakzai of Balochistan Assembly.
In the CCTV footage, the speeding white Land Cruiser vehicle could be seen hitting Sub-inspector Haji Attaullah from behind while he was regulating traffic on the main thoroughfare in Quetta. The police warden was crushed to death instantly before the vehicle disappeared.
Police initially claimed to have arrested the vehicle driver, however. When it transpired, the vehicle belonged to MPA Majeed Achakzai, the police registered a case against unknown persons in the case.
Sources said that the MPA was sitting in the vehicle while his driver was driving the car. The police are trying to sweep the incident under the carpet after being pressured by high-ups and the MPA himself, the sources said adding that the police are trying to hush up the incident.
