Karachi, Jan. 23 (TNS): At least 5 people were killed in a collision between a bus and a truck on late Monday night near the Northern Bypass in Karachi, rescue sources said.
Women and children are among more than 15 travellers who have been injured in the incident, and the death toll is expected to rise.
The bus was speeding and drove into a stationary truck.
Some of the injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in Karachi where 10 injured reported in critical condition.
Poor roads, badly maintained vehicles and reckless driving are cited as common reasons behind accidents in Karachi and other parts of the country.
