Pakistan is going to renegotiate Free Trade Agreement with China: Senate told

Islamabad, Jan. 23 (TNS): The Senate was informed on Tuesday that Pakistan is going to renegotiate Free Trade Agreement with China to reduce trade deficit between the two countries.

Responding to a question in the Senate, Minister of Commerce and Textile Muhammad Pervaiz Malik said that imports of worth twelve billion dollars come from China while Pakistan’s export to Beijing stands at two billion dollars.

Answering another question, Pervaiz Malik said that the government is motivating to enhance value added production in Pakistan.

He said enhancing garments production is our ultimate objective to increase exports.

The Minister said that Pakistan exports are improving due to Prime Minister’s Package of one eighty billion rupees.
