NAB has frozen bank accounts of MOCECHS in wake of ongoing corruption inquiry.

NAB move has affected more than 7000 allottees of the society who have announced to stage protest and hunger strike out side NAB Headquarters.

The allottees said that after freezing accounts of MOCECHS they are unable to submit installments which resulted halting development work.

The also said that this move would also delay process of possessions of plots.

Earlier, Ministry of Commerce Employees’ Cooperative Housing Society President Rana Ghulam Fareed had written a letter to the NAB chief, for looking into the corruption allegations against bureau officials.

In the letter, Fareed had said that the NAB officers pressurised him to leave the society office, and on resistance, they allegedly tortured him and his family members.

He also alleged that Shakeel Malik with the help of Iqbal had secured property illegally in the housing scheme. Both Shakeel and Iqbal were working in the NAB on deputation.

Fareed also attached copies of the five plots allotted to Shakeel’s brother and his nephew.

Sources said that the NAB chairman had issued direction that strict action would be taken against those officers involved in corruption.
