PESHAWAR Jan 26 (TNS): Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra says education plays fundamental role in the development and prosperity of a society.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of Abdul Qayyum Khan school and college in Bara Tehsil of Khyber agency, he said the present government has taken concrete measures for the promotion of education in tribal areas.
Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said the institute, affiliated with Lawrence College Murree, will play a vital role in providing quality education to the tribal youth.
Meanwhile, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has emphasized the need of modern research in the field of medicine.
This he said while presiding over the senate meeting of Khyber Medical University in Peshawar.
The vice chancellor of the university Prof Dr Arshad Javed apprised the Governor about working, achievements and future plans of the University.
The meeting approved budget of the University for the year 2017-18.
