NAB Chairman orders to probe alleged misappropriation of funds by NGOs, INGOs

Seeks report from foreign, interior, & economic affairs ministries about the plot taken by one NGO ‘PFOWN’ from the CDA and its resale to a private school at a nominal price and CDA’s alleged silence over it

ISLAMABAD Jan 26 (TNS):  Taking notice of some complaints regarding misappropriation of funds by the local and international NGOs,  the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (Retired) Javed Iqbal  has decided to probe alleged misappropriation of funds by the NGOs and INGOs working in Pakistan.

The NAB Executive Board meeting held under the chairmanship of head of the NAB has ordered that record of all NGOs and INGOs be checked as they have been accused of not only misusing but also misappropriating funds.

The NAB does not want to create unnecessary barriers to foreign investment and just desire to reach the truth and clear the NGOs and INGOs of the allegations of misappropriation of funds .

“The ministry of foreign affairs, the interior ministry and the economic affairs ministry have been asked to provide information about the plot taken by one NGO ‘PFOWN’ from the CDA and its resale to a private school at a nominal price and CDA’s alleged silence over it.
