Enemy trying to ruin festive mood of nation: COAS on Friday attacks


Rawalpindi, June (TNS): Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that enemy is trying to mar festive mood of nation through cowardly acts of terrorism.

From Karachi to Parachinar at least 42 people were killed and over 150 wounded as terrorists target Quetta, Parachinar and Karachi on Friday.

Death toll reached to 25 in two subsequent explosions hit a busy market of Kurram Agency’s Parachinar city on Friday evening, over 100 people were injured.

That was the second major bombing incident reported in the country on the same day as at least 13 people ─ including seven policeman ─ lost their lives, while 19 others were injured in a suicide blast that shook Shuhada Chowk in Quetta’s Gulistan Road area on Friday morning.

Later on, four cops were shot dead in SITE area of Karachi on Friday evening.

Responding to recent incidents of terrorism, the Army Chief said that enemies of the country shall fail against resilience of the Pakistani nation.

The COAS said security has been tightened across the country and specific intelligence based and search operations have been launched in coordination with law enforcement agencies.
