Islamabad, Jan. 30 (TNS): Sindh police on Tuesday raided a house in search of suspended SSP Malir Rao Anwar’s Islamabad residence but could not find the fugitive official allegedly involved in extrajudicial killings in fake police encounters.

The raided premises, House-133, Street-43, F-10/4, owned by wife of Rao Anwar but no one was found at the house when the raid was conducted on Tuesday.

Islamabad police assisted Sindh police including teams from the Counter Terrrorism Department (CTD) and Crime Branch (CB) that continue to search for the suspended police official who, according to sources, was present in the federal capital.

The police again failed producing Rao after a deadline given by the Supreme Court expired.

The former the SSP Malir is wanted by the authorities in connection to the murder case of Naqeebullah Mehsud — who along with four suspected terrorists — was killed in an ‘exchange of fire’ with a police team led by Anwar on January 13 in Shah Latif Town, Karachi.
