Islamabad June 24 (TNS): Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s son-in-law and MNA Capt (retd) Muhammad Safdar appeared before the joint investigation team (JIT) the money-laundering allegations against the Sharif family.

Captain (retd) Safdar is recording his statement before the JIT today.

PM’s adviser Asif Kirmani accompanied Safdar to the Federal Judicial Academy.

The JIT had rejected Safdar’s application to defer the hearing as he was performing Umrah.

On June 15, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif became the first sitting prime minister to appear before a JIT formed by the Supreme Court to investigate the alleged corruption by the first family in the light of the Panama Papers disclosures.
