JI local leader gunned down in KP

Peshawar, Feb. 4 (TNS): In another act of violence, a district leader of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) was shot dead in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Sunday morning, local media quoting officials reported.

According to reports, Malik Tufail was shot dead in the Ghoriwala neighbourhood of Bannu district by unknown assailants riding motorbikes. Sources told reporters that the gunmen fled the scene unchallenged.

Police have begun search operations in the area in order to arrest the culprits. A case has also been filed at Ghoriwala police station against unknown suspects, officials said.

Earlier this week, at least eight members of a family, including two minor girls, were killed and another man was injured in a landmine blast in Kurram Agency.
