Lahore, Feb. 8 (TNS): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday appreciated the professional role of the KP Police in the Asma and Mashal murder cases.
Speaking to media persons here, Imran said: “For the first time there has been action against mob violence. I have regrets for those parties who are making it a blasphemy issue. No one has even a doubt that Mashal ever committed blasphemy. Parties who are making a few people heroes must think that they are setting a precedent in which anyone can kill anyone. You are trying to bring a law of the jungle in the country.”
Nor was there any political gloating by CM. Instead, as is done all over the democratic world, the police chief gave a professional press briefing. This is the difference between KP’s professional police force & the highly politicised & criminalised police force of Punjab & Sindh https://t.co/7UpISpIgyQ

Lashing out at Punjab Chief Minister, Khan blamed that former police inspector Abid ‘Boxer’ was involved in extrajudicial killings on the directions of Shehbaz Sharif.
Imran said “the fugitive former inspector admitted that he used to kill people extra-judicially on the direction of Shehbaz Sharif,” adding that, “he left the country after knowing that Shehbaz was planning to kill him. Boxer is on record saying that he never killed anyone without the consent of Punjab chief minister.”
After court verdict on Mashal case, KP police has once again shown it’s professionalism by bringing a murderous mob under the ambit of the law. This is the first time in Pakistan where police has been successful in bringing the main accused plus other mob mbrs to justice.

The PTI chairman announced to take Shehbaz to court over the issue.
Both the Asma & Mashal cases have shown how a professional, model police force goes about its work efficiently and delivers solid results, despite media & political criticism. KP police a role model for other provinces to emulate. https://t.co/fK1RcgPUcK

“Give me one example of extrajudicial killing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. There is a difference between KP police and the one in Punjab and Sindh,” he said, adding: “That is the reason why Supreme Court called them [PML-N government] a mafia.”
In Mashal case, apart from the thoroughly professional job done by KP police, I would also like to commend the prosecution team’s untiring efforts in giving valuable inputs at the investigation stage and of effective prosecution in the court. A collective professional effort.
