NA Speaker, Dy Speaker condole death of HR icon Asma Jahangir, eminent artist Qazi Wajid

ISLAMABAD Feb 12 (TNS):  Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker and Mr. Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Deputy Speaker National Assembly of Pakistan have condoled the sad demise of prominent lawyer and renowned human rights icon Asma Jahangir.

In their separate condolence messages, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker expressed deep grief over the sad demise of Asma Jahangir. They lauded her immense contributions towards upholding rule of law, democracy and safeguarding human rights. They also praised her services rendered for the cause of independence of the judiciary, rule of law and supremacy of Constitution in the country and said that her services will always be remembered in good words in the judicial history of Pakistan.

She was an outspoken and courageous lady, and had risen to prominence by sheer dint of hard work, diligence and commitment to the legal profession, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said. The Speaker and Deputy Speaker termed her demise as a great loss for the legal fraternity and have prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and for the courage of the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude. In their separate condolence messages, the Speaker and Deputy Speaker expressed their heartfelt grief and sorrow over the passing away of Qazi Wajid. They said that Qazi Wajid was highly dynamic and versatile artist and with his death country has lost a legendary artist.
