ISLAMABAD, Feb 14(PR): Ghulam Muhammad Bulla was a young freedom fighter of 1970s, when he was tortured to death by police and the Central Jail authorities during midnight of February 14-15-1975.

Immediately after this heinous crime police in the dead of night shifted his dead body to Sopore, where he was buried before dawn. This has been stated by Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Hurriyat leader Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League, on his 43rd martyrdom anniversary.

He paid glowing tributes to valour, determination and patriotism of Shaheed Bulla who rose against infamous Indra-Abullah Accord of 1975 and took part in peaceful demonstrations against Indian occupation to create public awakening for revolution.

It was the first prison murder which shook the entire Kashmir and international probe was demanded by the people to bring to justice the killer police officer but the Abdullah Government did’t pay any heed to it.Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said that since  1970s , occupied Jammu and Kashmir had undergone many upheavals and over one hundred thousand Kashmiris had been martyred by the  Indian occupation troops across J&K.

Besides, during these long periods two great patriots of Kashmir- Muhammad Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Goro were hanged and buried in Tihard Jail, and still many kashmiris were suffering in Indian jails for the last 15 to 20 years under life sentence.

“The aim of all these sacrifices is to impress on the world community to address the question of Kashmir and prevail on India under the UN Charter & its relevant SC resolutions to hold plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir. The UN has moral and legal duty to facilitate talks  between Pakistan and India for a final resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir issue.”
