Chairman NAB orders inquiry against Akram Durrani

Islamabad, Feb. 19 (TNS): In a major development, Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal on Monday directed inquiry against federal minister for housing Akram Khan Durrani for misusing his powers and illegal allotments of plots.

According to hand-written notification issued by the anti-graft watchdog, Durrani has been accused of illegal allotment of plots in I-12 and I-16 sectors of Islamabad.

The notification added that the scam caused loss worth millions of rupees to national exchequer.

Meanwhile, the NAB has decided to appeal in Supreme Court against Islamabad high court’s decision regarding bail of the PML-N leader Capt Safdar.

The IHC had rejected the NAB plea against accountability court’s decision of accepting bail application of Safdar.
