CPNE organizes seminar to highlight challenges faced by country and role of media

Islamabad, Feb. 21 (TNS): Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) organized a seminar here on Wednesday to highlight challenges faced by country and role of media.
Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb called for required training of journalists so they can efficiently perform their professional duties.

 Addressing a seminar on “Challenges facing the Country and the role of Media” in, she urged the journalists to avoid senationalism and present news in its true perspective.

 She said democracy and journalism are inter-linked. She said in the past democracy was derailed but journalism played a very important role in continuation of the democratic system in the country.

 Marriyum Aruranzeb said the success of CPEC is the success of all of us. She urged media to play its role in the success of this mega project of national interest and create awareness about it in a positive way.

 PPP leader Shery Rehman, JUI-F chief Maulana Fazal ur Rehman and other leaders also addressed to the event.
