ISLAMABAD, Feb 24 (TNS): Islamabad Police has claimed to have arrested the killer of online taxi service Careem driver Junaid Mustafa.
SP CIA Zubair Ahamad Sheikh in a press conference here on Saturday said that the accused, Ata’ullah had booked the taxi car from F/11 Sector of the Capital City two days ago and tried to snatch the car on gun point but ended with shooting the driver dead after he put resistance.
SP continued to claim by accusing Ata’ullah that he was involved in snatching a car in F/10 Sector on 12th of this month and according to him has confessed two more crimes. He also claimed to have nabbed three culprits involved in looting Karachities in Shakkarparia some time ago.
But the situation took an ugly turn for police when accused Ata’ullah during the presser tried to take the cloth off his face and shouted that he is innocent and wrongly indicted into the murder case, leaving the police red faced.
Police officials did not let him to talk to journalists and hastily took him out of the scene.
Police couldn’t give rational response to the queries of scribes and evaded only to say that the accused tried to take advantage of the presence of media.
