Lahore, Feb 26 (TNS): Pakistan People’s Party leader Aitzaz Ahsan has said that the threat of bureaucrats to go a strike over the arrest of former director-general Lahore Development Authority tantamount to a revolt against the state of Pakistan.
Talking to the media in Lahore, he alleged that the federal government and Punjab Chief Minister of Shahbaz Sharif were inciting the civil servants to stage the strike to pressure the National Accountability Bureau from casting its net wide against other officials with suspected track record.
“What happened if Ahad Cheema has been arrested?” the PPP leader asked questioning if Shahbaz Sharif was the leader of thieves. Ahsan termed Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif “spoiled children”. “They want judges like Malik Qayyum and officers like Ahad Cheema,” he said.
