NHA to work on 100 projects in current financial year

Islamabad, Feb 27(TNS):  THE National Highways Authority (NHA) will work on 100 projects at cost of Rs. 790.656 billion during the financial year 2018-19.

This was told to the  National’s Assembly’s Standing Committee on Communications in its meeting, which was held in National Highways  Authority’s headquarters. The meeting was presided over by its Chairman  MNA Muhammad Muzammil Qureshi.

Committee approved all of the projects including Jandola-Zoab Road, Quetta-Kuchlak to Zoab Road, Shahdad Kot by-pass, Karachi Northern by-pass and the projects of other less developed areas might also be included in PSDP of NHA for the period 2018-19. and recommended that the projects in the less development and backward areas might be completed on priority basis. Moreover, the Committee recommended that The Standing Committee was apprised that the foundation stone of Sihala flyover, would be laid in first week of March 2018 and the work would start there forthwith.

The Standing Committee on Communications also considered and approved all projects including of National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP), Green Line Project of Karachi and National Transport Research Centre (NTRC) for the year 2018-19. The Standing Committee resolved that National Projects and Highway might be completed with apolitical way and above all political and other affiliations. However, the Committee recommended, that less developed and backward regions might be given special priority. The Standing Committee constituted a Sub-Committee to check the condition of the roads of South Punjab and Sindh and submit its report within thirty days.
