Karachi Feb 28 (TNS): Madiha Kayani — the main key witness in the 19-year-old Intizar Murder case — has come to the fore in a video claiming unknown persons were hurling life threats at her, asking her to back out from testifying before investigators or face dire consequences.

Intizar was killed by two personnel of the Anti-Car Lifting Cell in the DHA area of Karachi on January 13 after his car was intercepted by two cars and two motorcycle riders, who opened fire at him from behind and killed him on the spot.

According to Madiha, Intizar had told her that he was getting threats from one, Sohail Hameed, whose daughter Mahrukh was Intizar’s class fellow and they were friends. Madiha said that the investigation team dropped some of her statements when it submitted its report to the police high-ups. “Intizar was killed under a planning. One, Sulaiman Haider, had met in the morning and Intizar had told me that he was terrified after meeting Sulaiman. My earlier statement in the murder case was distorted and some portions of the statement have been dropped. My life is under threat. I request the Rangers to provide me protection,” Madiha could be heard saying in the video.

The victim’s father, Ishtiaq Ahmed, who could be seen with Madiha in the video, demanded that Sohail Hameed, Mahrukh’s father, had threatened him of dire consequences if his late son did not sever relations with his daughter. He demanded that police officer, Aamir Hameed, the brother of Sohail Hameed, should also be included for investigation in the murder case.
