PM updated by FO on important issues

Islamabad June 30 (TNS): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Friday got an update on country’s foreign relations at a specially arranged briefing at the Foreign Office.

Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz briefed him on important foreign affairs issues, diplomatic strategies and the current state of affairs in the region a statement from the PM House said. Senior officials of the Foreign Office were also present during the briefing.

The Foreign Office officials briefed the prime minister on the Indo-Pak relations, Indian antagonism in occupied Kashmir and the ongoing ceasefire violations by Indian forces along the Line of Control (LoC).

Border issues with Afghanistan and Iran also came under discussion during the briefing. The Middle East situation including Qatar-Saudi conflict was also discussed at the briefing.

PM Sharif asked the Foreign Adviser to prepare a comprehensive strategy report about the current situation in the region as well as at the global arena.

On Thursday, the Foreign Office summoned the acting Deputy High Commissioner of India, S Raguram, over recent ceasefire violations by Indian forces along the LoC and the Working Boundary.
