Rawalpindi March 3 (TNS): At least one girl was killed and another injured after they jumped off a five-storey building after they were fired upon by an assailant at the airport police jurisdiction on Saturday morning.
The whole affair of the incident still shrouds in mystery as police were reluctant to share details, it all happened when a man, identified as Shirazi, took the two girls, identified as Bisma and Shumaila, to the flat of his friend Nadir, at a private housing society near the airport. When Nadir, who was out, came to know about the presence of the two girls in his flat, he showed up and opened fire on the two, injuring one of the girls. Both the terrified girls jumped off the flat and Bisma smashed her head after she hit the road while Shumaila was seriously injured. 
The police took the body into custody and shifted the injured girl to the District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.
When contacted, SP Potohar Division Syed Ali, said that Nadir and his friend Zulqarnain have been taken into custody and Nadir has confessed to opening fire on the girls. The police officer said that a dagger has also been recovered from Nadir. According to him, family members of the victim girl have been called to record their statement.
