Neelum-Jhelum hydro power project on the card  to inaugurate

Rawalpindi, March 4 (TNS): Neelum-Jhelum hydro power project is on the card to inaugurate. Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will inaugurate Neelum-Jehlum hydro power project by the end of March.

The PM will inaugurate the  project in the last week of March. Neelum-Jehlum hydro power project of 969 MW is about to become functional. The power unit will generate power in April, 3rd in May and 4th in June.

Chairman Wapda Muzammil Hussain  said in a statement that another vital milestone has been crossed to provide inexpensive electricity. Pakistan has resources to generate 100,000 MW electricity. He said that India is persistently violating Indus basin treaty. India has  violated Indus basin treaty several times  in all the matters including  Kishan Ganga and Baglahar. Neelam-Jehlum Project has been completed in 10 years which costs 5 billion dollar.
