Islamabad March 9 (TNS): Dr Muhammad Amjad, the All Pakistan Muslim League General Secretary and a closed aide to former military ruler Pervez Musharraf, on Friday refused to accept or own his alleged wife, Rozina, before the Islamabad High Court, making a solemn statement that he had never seen or met her.
Ms. Rozina had moved the IHC, petitioning that Dr Amjad had tied the knot with her but later he refused to accept her.
When IHC judge Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui took up the case, Dr. Amjad, while holding the holy Quran in his hands, swore that he never married Rozina and she was completely alien to him.
In the meanwhile, Ms Rozina, while holding the holy Quran in her hands, also swore that she was Dr Amjad’s wife.
After both testified before the court, the judge ordered them to submit written affidavits. After both of them submitted the affidavits, the court reserved the verdict on the plea of Ms Rozina.
