Islamabad, March 14 (TNS): Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Interior Senator Rehman Malik has said that Akhtar Naqvi has misguided and deceived the Supreme Court over his dual nationality.
Akhtar Naqvi has filed a petition against Rehman Malik stated that Rehman had failed to compensate the government for the benefits utilized during his tenure as a senator despite the top court’s order in the dual nationality case.
The three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar resumed the hearing on Tuesday and issued the notice to Rehman Malik to appear before the court on Wednesday.
While talking to the media outside the Supreme Court he said that I had never thought about the contempt of court and I have surrendered my dual nationality before general elections of 2008. He said I have been acquitted by former Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary and Attorney General has given arguments in favour of me. He said after the Senate Chairman decision Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has sent my case to a trial court in Karachi and the trial court has acquitted me.
He said that during the Senate election the conspirators have again played off my case and four judges of ECP have conducted investigations and declared me clear. He said I will file contempt of court case against Akhtar Naqvi over his fake allegations. He said he conceal the truth from the court. He said Akhtar Naqvi is a blackmailer and he blackmailing politicians and businessmen for his vested interests.
