Islamabad March 15 (TNS): The Supreme Court on Thursday indicted State Minister for Interior Tala Chaudhry in a contempt of court case. The minister, however, pleaded not guilty and put up another application to defer the indictment, which was turned down by the court.

When the Supreme Court bench headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan resumed hearing, Kamran Murtaza representing Chaudhry requested the court to defer the indictment so that his client could submit another reply.

The bench, however, said that the indictment could not be deferred and Chaudhry could put up the application, which will be taken up later.

Addressing a public meeting a few days back, Chaudhry had lashed out at the judges calling them PCO-judges and asking former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to oust them (through public agitation) because they would not do justice in the future.

The hearing was adjourned March 27.
