Islamabad March 28 (TNS): Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday made it clear neither he was availing an NRO nor will he escape from the country.

While talking to reporters outside the trial court after appearing in the Avenfield reference along with his daughter Maryam Nawaz, he said that the case against them was fictitious and concocted as according to him, the main prosecution witness and JIT chief Wajid Zia had to scratch his nose in testifying before the court.

Sharif said that if he and his daughter were to flee the country, they would not have appeared in the trial court to face the trail.

He said that the case against them was a sheer fraud and the hands behind this concocted will be soon exposed. He claimed that the prosecution was pursuing a weak case against them as according to him, the prime prosecution witness failed to answer questions during his cross-examination by the defendants’ counsels.

He said that if were to be punished, he should have been penalized in the rental power scandal or hajj scandal case, which were the major corruption cases.

The former premier also said that the chief justice’s current visit of private medical colleges was aimed at targeting his Sharif Medical College in Lahore.
