Islamabad July 3 (TNS): Prime minister’s younger son while lashing out at the ongoing probe into the Panama Papers case said on Monday that the investigation was nothing but a ploy to target Nawaz Sharif to derail development.“This is nothing but a Jumma bazaar. Summons after summons being served on members of the Sharif family. By summoning the children, the JIT is putting pressure on Nawaz Sharif. His children are being summoned to pressure him, who is taking the forward. There is nothing with my business and my foreign accounts. The JIT is trying to showcase that it has the power to summon anyone it wanted. Hassan, Hussain or Maryam Nawaz is not the issue, it is the prime minister, who is being pressured. The lie will soon expose and we will stand triumph,” he said while talking to the media outside the Federal Judicial Academy after appearing before the JIT, which grilled him for over two hours. He said that the JIT is sending them repeated “cut-and-paste” summons without explaining the charges against them.

The lie will soon expose,” he said while talking to the media outside the Federal Judicial Academy after appearing before the JIT, which grilled him for over two hours. He said that the JIT is sending them repeated “cut-and-paste” summons without explaining the charges against them. “I have been living in the UK for 23 years and have been doing business for 15 years and their regulatory authorities never raised any concerns, however, this newly-formed JIT is asking questions.”

Hassan Nawaz said that he has submitted to the JIT all the documents regarding his London business, bank transactions, loans taken from banks, tax returns in the UK and all record of the business trail.

“Today, I asked the JIT to tell me about the allegations against me. As per international practice, allegations are charged first, then investigation begins before initiating a case. Here everything is the opposite: the case has been disposed of the court, the JIT is investigating the case without telling us about the allegations,” Hassan Nawaz said adding that the detractors of the prime minister want continuous agitation and sit-ins to derail the ongoing development initiated by PM Sharif.

Hasan said the prime minister had ordered him to appear before the JIT without hesitation but it is his right to ask what charges are against him.

He said that the Sharif family has appeared before the JIT and will continue to do so. “If the JIT wants to summon my 85-old-grandmother, she will also appear,” he said.
