Two killers of Amjad Sabri among 10 terrorists to be hanged

Rawalpindi April 2 (TNS): Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday sanctioned the death sentence of 10 hardcore terrorists, who were tried and sentenced by special military courts.

The 10 terrorists had been sentenced to death for killing 62 persons including five civilians, 11 police officials and 46 Frontier Constabulary/armed forces personnel.

Two of the convicts were involved in the killing of renowned Qawwal Amjad Farid Sabri. These convicts were tried by military courts.

According to a press release issued by the ISPR, Muhammad Ishaq, son of Muhammad Ibrahim and Muhammad Asim, son of Abdul Rehman, members of a proscribed organization, were sentenced for the killing of a renowned Qawwal Sabri and attacking the law enforcement agencies personnel, which had resulted in the death of 17 officials. They were also found in possession of firearms and explosives. The convicts confessed their offences before a judicial magistrate and the trial court.

Similarly, Muhammad Arish Khan, son of Muhammad Aslam, a member of the proscribed organization was convicted for his involvement in attacking Pearl Continental Hotel, Peshawar, which had resulted in the death of four civilians. The convict confessed to his offence before a judicial magistrate and the trial court.

Muhammad Rafique, son of Hameed Khan, a member of proscribed organization, was convicted for attacking law enforcement agencies of Pakistan, which had resulted in the death of Lt-Col Muhammad Yousaf, Assistant District Officer (FC) Karim Khan, Naib Subedar Fazal Wahid, Naib Subedar Muhammad Fayaz along with 16 soldiers and injuries to three other soldiers. He was also involved in the abduction of civilian Muhammad Ali, for ransom. The convict confessed his offences before the judicial magistrate and the trial court.

Similarly, Habib Ur Rehman, son of Khoba Gul, a member of a proscribed organization,  was convicted for attacking law enforcement agencies of Pakistan, which had resulted in the death of Lt-Col Anwar Abbas along with three soldiers and injuries to 15 others. He was also involved in collecting funds for the terrorist activities. The convict confessed to his offences before the judicial magistrate and the trial court.

Muhammad Fayyaz, son of Gul Faraz, a member of a proscribed organization, was convicted for attacking security forces, which had resulted in the death of Naib Subedar Fateh Muhammad, Havildar Pervez Iqbal, Havildar Basharat Ali, police constable Saleem Khan and four other soldiers. The convict confessed to his offences before the judicial magistrate and the trial court.

Ismail Shah, son of Nek Badshah, a member of a proscribed organization, was convicted for killing Naib Subedar Nasim Khan and also attacking the armed forces of Pakistan. The convict confessed to his offences before the judicial magistrate and the trial court.

Fazal Muhammad, son of Abdul Mateen, a member of a proscribed organization, was convicted for attacking armed forces, which had resulted in the death of Naib Subedar Fateh Muhammad, Havildar Pervez Iqbal, Havildar Basharat Ali and five other soldiers. The convict confessed to his offences before the judicial magistrate and the trial court.

Hazrat Ali, son of Muhammad Ali, a member of a proscribed organization, was convicted for attacking law enforcement agencies of Pakistan, which had resulted in the death of Havildar Wahab Ali and three other soldiers. The convict confessed to his offence before the judicial magistrate and the trial court.

Habib Ullah, son of Anwar Baig, a member of a proscribed organization, was convicted for attacking security forces, which had resulted in the death of a police constable and injuries to another official. He was also involved in the destruction of three compact disc Shops at Akora Khattak. The convict confessed to his offences before the judicial magistrate and the trial court.
