Karachi, April 2nd (TNS): A depleted West Indies side will face Pakistan in the second T-20 in National Stadium Karachi on Monday, as they try to make amends to their thrashing defeat in the first T-20, last night.
Pakistan registered a record win in the first T-20 as they thrashed the windies by 143 runs.
West Indies won the toss and elected to field but the Skipper Jason Mohammad’s decision backfired as Pakistan set a humungous total on the board.
In reply the West Indies slumped to a meager total of 60, as Pakistan tasted their biggest victory in terms of runs in the T-20 format.
Hussain Talat was named Man of the Match for his forty odd runs from the top of the order.
A disappointed Jason Mohammad said in the post-match presentation: “It was a tough day. Think we did well with the ball till the last two overs. Our batting was bad. Looked like a good wicket, it is a good wicket, but our shot execution wasn’t good. We need to stay positive and come back strong. Try and do the basics right tomorrow. First time being in Pakistan for international cricket, and it feels good.”
Already depleted West Indies side face a fresh blow to their squad as West Indian bowler Veerasammy Permaul has been ruled out of the series after he suffered an Ankle injury last night.
For now Pakistan are leading the three match series 1-0 and tonight’s game will be the series decider which will determine, who will win the first series in the “city of lights” after nine years.
The match will start at 8pm.
