ISLAMABAD, April 2 (TNS): Protesters from Ahle Sunnat Wal Jama’at (ASWJ) blocked the main highway into Islamabad on Monday, locking down the federal capital once again.
Hundreds protesters are demanding the immediate release of ASWJ leader Maulana Masoodur Rehman Usmani.
They have blocked roads near Faizabad and Tarnol connecting Islamabad with Rawalpindi and Peshawar respectively, along which thousands of people commute every day to work in the capital.
Islamabad traffic police issued alternative routes for commuters however long queues of vehicles causing misery to the thousands of people.
