NAUDERO April 4 ((TNS): While the Election Commission of Pakistan is working on the proposed delimitation of constitutions without taking political forces on board, restlessness and impatience seems increasingly palpable among almost all political parties, which have become more alarmed that certain unseen forces were working on an agenda to get desired results in the upcoming general election.

Yet another major opposition party, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), on Wednesday also expressed its apprehension that there was something that meets the eyes when it comes to keeping the political parties at bay in all the process including seeking of proposals and complaints from political parties in the lead up to the next general election.

The PPP Central Executive Committee that met under PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari in the chair in Naudero made it clear that no maneuvering or pre-poll rigging will be accepted and engineered elections will be resisted.

Critics say that the PPP has smelt the frame of mind of the powers that be, which were in no mood to swing or maneuver the polls in its favour while they are working on another King’s party.

Senior PPP leaders including Khursheed Shah, Nafeesa Shah, Nayyar Bokhari, Sherry and others also attended the meeting.

After the CEC huddle, Nayyar Bokhari told the media that the top decision-making body of the party has resolved that the engineered elections will not be acceptable for them.

He said that it was agreed that the next elections were held on time. He said that the PPP has also taken cognizance of the issue that banned and terrorist outfits were being allowed to do politics under the garb of different names which will be resisted.

The PPP meeting also condemned the Indian atrocities in the held Kashmir and the recent wave of terror in Quetta.

Critics also express the apprehension that the next elections may be postponed for two years after the interim government was put in place, as according to them, the powers that be was working on this scheme. They gave the rationale in support of their argument that since very crucial cases were being heard in courts and their verdicts may have far-reaching consequences and impact on the future landscape of the country, as according to them, in case of conviction of the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in NAB references against him, his party could swing the poll results in terms of sympathy votes and this anticipated result is not acceptable to certain forces, which have been working to groom and launch the PTI as an alternate and its Chief Imran Khan seems to be passionate to get the top slot.

The doubts and manipulation could put the very survival of the political system at stake if the political forces failed to exhibit a united front against the hidden hands.
