Islamabad, April 5 (TNS): Taking a jibe at Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif over his admiration of the army chief, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief sarcastically said that the applause was more akin to a job application than praise.

His criticism comes after Sharif poured a heap of praise on the army chief, terming him a straightforward and a candid man, who only wants that the country progress.

Imran, who is allegedly being pampered and groomed by the powers that be tipping him as the next prime minister, tweeted that the praise was most unbecoming of a politician and was almost an affront to the most basic of political decency.

Imran’s statement may also have come in the apprehension that establishment may not tilt towards Shahbaz, who is also considered to have soft corner for the army, and if he reconciles with the establishment, he will have a smooth sailing in the next general election, and possible he may clinch the prime minister’s slot.

The PTI chief, meanwhile, condemned the killing in Kunduz and called it a heinous act against humanity.
