Islamabad, April 8 (TNS): To deal with riots in the federal capital, a mock exercise conducted in Islamabad on Sunday revealed the preparedness and the vigilance of the anti-riot police force.
The mock exercise was conducted at Faizabad area of Islamabad which also tested the response time of anti-riot force, as external help was also acquired.
During the drill, the force was attacked by a group of “violent mob”, armed with stones and sticks, which attacked the police with sticks and hurled stones.
Reluctantly, some policemen and mob members were ‘injured’ and provided medical assistance.
IG Islamabad Police Dr. Sultan Azam Taimuri also witnessed the drills and appreciated preparedness of anti-riots force.
