Commerce co-operative society affected members announces protest against NAB officials

Islamabad April 11 (TNS): Thousands of affected members of the Ministry of Commerce Employees’ Cooperative Housing Society (MOCECHS) have announced to stage a protest sit-in and a hunger strike outside the NAB office on May 7 against what they said the involvement of some bureau officials in corruption, harassment and intimidation.
The affected employees headed by Chairman Action Committee Chaudhry Muhammad Arshad alleged that some NAB corrupt officials were pressuring and browbeating them and the management.

The affected persons said that the NAB’s corrupt officials were demanding plots in the society and creating hurdles in the smooth functioning of the society’s affairs and it was a conspiracy against the NAB chief, who has vowed to put the house in order and take action against corrupt bureau officials. They have appealed to the NAB chief Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal to rein in the corrupt officials and take notice of the harassment at the hands of the corrupt NAB officials.

The affected persons have also appealed to the civil society, journalists and lawyers to participate in their protest rally on May 7 to express their solidarity with the. The affected housing society members have also appealed to the army chief and the chief justice to take notice of the issue and order an inquiry against the corrupt NAB officials
The affected members said that they will not call off their protest until they were assured that no NAB official will harass or interfere in the affairs of the society.
