Karachi April 13 (TNS): The Karachi police on Friday arrested a cop who was part of the notorious SSP Rao Anwar’s encounter group that had also killed Naqeebullah Mehsood.
Police said that Constable Shakeel, who was posted at a police station in Malir, was arrested with the help of an intelligence agency. Shakil and other 10 policemen were wanted to the police in the murder case of Naqeebullah Mehsood, who was killed in a fake encounter in Karachi in January.

Rao Anwar and other police officials suspected of killing Mehsood have been taken into custody and they were being interrogated by the joint investigation team.
Constable Shakeel also recorded his statement to the JIT and disclosed that Rao Anwar was present on the spot when the fake encounter took place that led to the killing of Mehsood.
