Islamabad April 16 (TNS): A woman and a child were killed when a breakable wall collapsed on them in the Sihala area of Islamabad on Monday morning.
According to locals, the wall had been constructed by alleged land grabbers to seize the land adjacent to the house, which fell on the house caused by the wind gusts and rain. The locals said that they heard the noise like a thunder and rushed to the spot and found the two trapped under the debris. The desperately dug the debris but found the two dead.
After the incident, the locals took to the streets and blocked the main Supper Highway in protest again the land grabbers and the local administration for failing to check encroachments. The highway was later opened to traffic after police assured the protesters to take action against the suspected land grabbers.
