Lahore April 18 (TNS): Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz left Lahore for London on Wednesday morning to see the ailing Kulsoom Nawaz, who was against rushed to the hospital on Tuesday after her health deteriorated.
A spokesperson for the family said that the two left from Lahore airport on a Qatar Airways flight. Kulsoom Nawaz has been undergoing treatment for cancer for the last several months.
“Off to London to see Ami. If exemption not granted, will return before next hearing Insha’Allah. Pls remember her in your special prayers,” Maryam Nawaz said in her tweet.
The former premier and his daughter were expected to return on April 22 as they have to appear before the trial court on April 23 in the NAB references and the trial has almost entered the final stage as the cross-examination of JIT head Wajid Zia concluded.
The Sharif family is facing three corruption cases in the accountability court.
